What Preston is retained to do

Preston Rideout provides expert analysis, written reports, deposition testimony, and trial testimony in civil matters where the conduct of a bar, nightclub, restaurant, hotel, resort, or casino is at issue: principally whether alcohol was served responsibly, whether staff were trained and supervised as the venue’s own policies and industry practice require, and whether the venue’s operations, staffing, and incident response met recognized hospitality standards.

He works for plaintiffs and for defendants. In a plaintiff engagement that usually means identifying, from the venue’s own records, where service or supervision departed from standard practice. In a defense engagement it often means showing that the venue’s program was sound and followed, or that the records do not support the overservice or negligence theory being advanced.
